Vejer, one of the most beautiful towns in Spain… and the world

Vejer has been part of the Association of the Most Beautiful Towns and Villages in Spain since 2013. In order to be a part of this association, a town must meet strict criteria set out in its quality charter.

To join this association, a town must first apply for approval from the plenary session of the municipal council or board of governors. Once the association has received this request, the processing of the application will begin. The application will be assessed on the grounds of urban quality, architectural merit, values, development, promotion and liveliness:
This year, the Association of the Most Beautiful Towns and Villages in Spain became a full member of the International Federation of the Most Beautiful Towns and Villages in the World. With this honour it has been confirmed as a full member of this international network, with its 44 members automatically now considered among the most beautiful towns and villages in the world.
Vejer is at present the only town in the province of Cádiz that is a member of the Association of the Most Beautiful Towns and Villages in Spain, strengthening its position each year as one of the favourite tourist destinations for locals in Spain, according to tourism operators such as TripAdvisor.
