In order to be a part of this association, a town must meet strict criteria set out in its quality charter.<\/p><p>To join this association, a town must first apply for approval from the plenary session of the municipal council or board of governors. Once the association has received this request, the processing of the application will begin. The application will be assessed on the grounds of urban quality, architectural merit, values, development, promotion and liveliness:<br \/>This year, the Association of the Most Beautiful Towns and Villages in Spain became a full member of the International Federation of the Most Beautiful Towns and Villages in the World.
